Victorian Hebe & Zeus Cameo Brooch

Circa 1900
The carving shows Hebe, seated and dressed in classical drapery, offering a cup to Zeus, who appears in the form of an eagle. The eagle stands with wings slightly raised, facing her. Hebe extends one arm toward the eagle, referencing her role as cupbearer to the gods. The figures are carved in white relief against a warm shell background, with clear detailing in the robes and feathers. The scene is framed in a plain 9ct gold mount with safety chain.
Brooch measures approximately 64mm in height and 51mm in width.
