Antique 18ct Gold, Edwardian Cabochon Moonstone and Diamond Ring
Antique Moonstone Ring
18ct Gold
Circa 1910
A beautiful Edwardian-era 18ct gold moonstone and diamond ring, dating to circa 1910, with a wonderfully distinctive and elegant design.
The centrepiece is a large, smooth oval cabochon moonstone, displaying a beautiful translucent blue-grey body with an enchanting iridescent glow that shifts beautifully with the light. Surrounding the moonstone is a generous halo of individually set old-cut diamonds, creating a wonderful contrast between the soft, ethereal moonstone and the sparkle of the antique diamonds.
The substantial, architectural mount has a lovely Edwardian geometric form, with delicate pierced and millegrain-style detailing adding texture and definition around each diamond. The slightly elongated face gives the ring a particularly striking presence on the hand.
A gorgeous example of early 20th-century jewellery, combining the romantic appeal of moonstone with the timeless sparkle of antique diamonds.
The face of the ring measures approximately 16.2mm in height and 13.6mm in width. The moonstone measures approximately 10.3mm in height and 7.4mm in width.
