Antique Silver & Gold, Victorian Pink Enamel, Diamond and Pearl Flower Pendant
Antique Flower Pendant
Silver & Gold
Circa 1860s
This exquisite piece showcases a naturalistic, asymmetrical branch adorned with a delicate fuchsia flower, a botanical motif that was highly popular in the 19th century. Often symbolising confiding love and elegance, the fuchsia captures the essence of romance and natural beauty.
Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the leaves and upper stem are beautifully set with old-cut diamonds, a hallmark of the era that adds a touch of sparkle. The main flower bell is rendered in a soft pink enamel, providing a striking contrast against the brilliance of the diamonds. Accenting the upper stem is a small natural seed pearl. In contrast, a larger, lustrous cultured drop pearl mimics the realistic appearance of a fuchsia stamen, enhancing the overall charm of the design.
The metalwork features a refined silver-topped design, complemented by yellow gold sections on the back—this method of setting diamonds was standard before platinum became widely used in the early 20th century. This piece not only serves as a stunning accessory but also tells a story steeped in history and artistry, making it a truly unique addition to any collection.
The pendant measures approximately 39.5mm in length and 27mm in width.
* The chain is sold separately
