Antique 18ct Gold & Platinum, Edwardian Ruby Diamond Marquise/Navette Shaped Ring

£1,850.00

Edwadian Marquise Ring

18ct Gold & Platinum Stamped

Circa 1910

A magnificent Edwardian ring, beautifully crafted in a combination of 18ct yellow gold and platinum, dating from the early 20th century.

The ring features a spectacular elongated geometric design, centred around a beautiful natural diamond, surrounded by intricate platinum openwork. Rich natural rubies are channel-set within the sweeping yellow gold arches, creating a wonderful contrast against the bright platinum and sparkling diamonds.

The elaborate mount is further decorated with numerous natural old-cut diamonds, each carefully set within delicate platinum panels. The combination of pierced geometric forms, millegrain-style detailing and contrasting precious metals is characteristic of the refined jewellery design of the Edwardian and Belle Époque period.

The ruby accents add a wonderfully vivid flash of colour, while the natural diamonds provide plenty of antique sparkle. The elongated silhouette gives the ring fantastic presence on the hand without losing the delicate intricacy expected of fine Edwardian jewellery.

The face of the ring measures approximately 21.7mm in height and 14.1mm in width.
