A richly toned Victorian brooch crafted in garnet gold, set with a symmetrical cluster of deep red garnets in a starburst formation. The central round-cut garnet is encircled by radiating petal-like stones, each claw-set to enhance their saturated hue and natural brilliance. The warm, reddish gold alloy known as garnet gold for its complementary tone adds depth and cohesion to the design, typical of late 19th-century sentimentality and craftsmanship.
Likely worn as a day-to-evening accent, this brooch reflects the Victorian fascination with symbolic colour and floral geometry. Garnets were favoured for their associations with love, protection, and enduring affection.
