Antique Gold Locket
9ct Rose Gold Back & Front Stamped
Circa 1900
An Edwardian locket, engraved on one side with two swallows in flight and on the other with a floral basket motif.
The swallow panel shows two birds mid‑soar, picked out in crisp engraving typical of turn‑of‑the‑century sentimental jewellery.
The reverse carries a finely worked bouquet in a woven basket, the engraving deep and well‑preserved, giving the piece a romantic, decorative presence.
A sweet, symbolic piece - swallows representing love and safe return, floral baskets symbolising affection and remembrance.
The locket measures approximately 29mm in diameter and 4.8mm in depth

*The term gold front & back is often used to describe antique gold lockets which have a front back made from gold.
The gold front and back are applied to a base metal frame or sometimes sterling silver.
The supporting frame of the locket and hinge are base metal.
All of our items are either Antique, Vintage or Preloved. They are in used condition and may show some signs of age-related wear, light surface scratches or tarnish.
