Antique 9ct Gold Back & Front Stamped, Edwardian Paste Swallow Turquoise Oval Locket
Antique Gold Locket
9ct Rose Back & Front Stamped
Circa 1910
A charming Edwardian 9ct gold back‑and‑front locket, circa 1910, decorated with a swallow in flight picked out in clear paste and accented with a single turquoise cabochon.
The border is framed with scrolling foliate engraving, giving the piece a romantic, decorative edge. The reverse is plain polished gold, characteristic of back‑and‑front construction, keeping the locket lightweight yet durable. Inside, it retains space for photographs or keepsakes.
A sweet, symbolic Edwardian piece: swallows representing love, loyalty, and safe return ideal for collectors or anyone drawn to meaningful antique jewellery.
The locket measures approximately 30mm in height and 22mm in width
Height including loop approximately 42mm
Weight 6g
* The gold chain is sold separately.
*The term gold front & back is often used to describe antique gold lockets which have a front back made from gold.
The gold front and back are applied to a base metal frame or sometimes sterling silver.
The supporting frame of the locket and hinge are base metal.
