Antique 18ct Gold, Platinum and Diamond, Edwardian Royal Artillery, The Gunners, Military Sweetheart Brooch, Circa 1900
Antique Diamond Brooch
18ct Gold & Platinum Tested
Circa 1900
A beautifully crafted 18ct gold and platinum artillery brooch, designed in the form of a field cannon. The cannon barrel and carriage are formed in rich 18ct yellow gold, with fine engraved detailing that highlights the contours of the piece. The wheel is set in platinum, chosen for its strength and crisp white sheen, and decorated with sparkling diamonds.
This brooch is a classic example of early 20th‑century sweetheart jewellery, created as a sentimental token for loved ones connected to military service. The cannon motif is closely associated with the Royal Regiment of Artillery, whose emblem has featured a field gun since the 18th century. During the Edwardian era and through WWI, officers often commissioned small precious‑metal brooches like this for wives, fiancées, or mothers — pieces that blended regimental pride with fine jewellery craftsmanship.
The brooch measures approx 22mm in width & 12mm in height
Weight 2.3g
