Antique Pearl Set Bird Brooch
15ct Gold Stamped
Circa 1900
A charming late Victorian brooch in 15ct yellow gold, modelled as a swallow perched serenely on a flowering branch. The bird’s form is gently contoured, with wings folded close and tail forked, conveying rest and watchfulness rather than flight. Natural seed pearls accent the swallow’s body and wing, lending soft lustre and symbolic purity. The branch is adorned with stylised blossoms, echoing themes of renewal and affection.
Swallows were widely worn as tokens of love and safe return, making this piece both sentimental and emblematic.
The bar of the brooch measures approximately 46mm in length and 15mm in width.
