This antique cockerel brooch, crafted circa 1900 in 14ct white gold, is a lively and intricate example of Edwardian-era whimsy and craftsmanship.
The bird is depicted mid-strut, its form animated by a vibrant palette of gemstones. Rose-cut diamonds lend a soft, antique sparkle to the tail and wing feathers, while rubies define the comb and wattle with rich crimson tones. Sapphires and emeralds are thoughtfully arranged across the body and tail, creating a harmonious interplay of blue and green.
The brooch measures approximately 18mm in width and 18mm in height.
